With great pomp and show the 5th Adivasi Welfare Society (AWS) Winter Golf Tournament 2020 was held at Golmuri Golf Ground, Jamshedpur, on 12th & 13th December 2020. With over 180 participants, played over two days, it had 25 entries from Delhi. The Delhi team was led by Mr. D.P. Singh, Chairman – Sara Group and included Ms Pinky Anand, Ex Additional Solicitor General of India, Professional Golfers Amandeep Johl & Harmeet Kahlon.
The glittering evening was organized by the patron of the tournament, Mr. Arjun Munda, former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and currently Minister of Tribal Affairs in the Modi Government, and was attended by luminaries viz., Mr. T.V. Narendran – Managing Director, Tata Steel, Mr. Sanjiv Paul – Vice President, Tata Steel, Mr. Tajendra Luthra – Addl. Director-General of Police, Mr. Ravinder Zutshi – Director, Havells India and Mr. Hitesh Kumar Makwana – Resident Commissioner, Tamil Nadu among others.

In a fiercely competitive match, Mr. Rakesh Malhotra of Ranchi won the grand prize of the Return Business Class Air Tickets for two from Vistara Airlines. The glittering Crystal Trophies with 24-carat gold plating, were distributed to the winners and partners of the tournament. Mr.Bhushan Raina received the Lifetime Achievement Award in Golfing at the Golmuri Course.
The Adibasi Welfare Society (AWS) besides being involved in education, entrepreneurship, skill developments for Adivasis also produce caddy golfers in the eastern region and holds separate caddy tournaments every year.
