Winner of 4 major titles and former World No 1 showed he has recovered from his medical treatments which sidelined him for most of the past 18 months by winning the US$ 7.3mn Phoenix Open with a masterful performance.

Koepka, who saw his world ranking plummet out of the top ten in the past year in contrast to his healthy and all conquering rival Dustin Johnson, entered the week after missing three straight cuts, shot rounds of 68-66-66-65 (19 under 265) to win the tournament by a shot. Koepka made two eagles, including on the 17th to overcome a five-shot deficit, going five-under for the last six holes to claim his first win since the FedEx St. Jude Invitational in 2019.

This has been a long-time coming for the former World No.1, who has been receiving treatment on his left knee, which required multiple stem-cell treatments, and hip. He missed the Presidents Cup in December 2019 and needed another two-month layoff last year, missing the FedEx Cup playoffs and U.S. Open, to allow his injuries to heal properly.
