Long hitting Sharmila Nicollet from Bangalore, who has been in Florida since early 2020 is getting back to tour golf after missing the last season due to a bicycle accident in April which led to torn ligaments and surgery in late May.
She carded 76-72-78, making her first cut in 4 starts at the US$ 200,000 Copper Rock Championship on the Symetra Tour in Utah.
Last year, Sharmila played five events on the Sunshine Ladies Tour in South Africa, where she won the US$ 50,000 Dimension Data Ladies Pro-Am team event.
Sharmila needs to finish among the top 80 in the final Symetra Tour rankings to keep her playing rights for next year. The tour consists of around 20 – 25 tournaments each year with prize money averaging nearly US$200,000 each. The 10 top ranked players at the end of the year qualify automatically for the LPGA Tour.
