24-year-old Shubhankar Sharma finished strong with a 69 for a tied-34th at the US$ 2.2mn British Masters being played at the famous Belfry Course outside Birmingham.
Shubhankar added a crucial US$ 18,000 (₹13 lakhs) to take his season earnings to US$89,435 (₹65.5 lakhs) which all help in keeping his playing status for the 2022 season.
As of now, Shubhankar has had a mediocre 2021 season, making 6 cuts in 11 starts with a tied-22nd at the US$ 3.2mn Dubai Desert Classic in January as his best result so far.
Other Indians in the field last week in UK – Ajeetesh Sandhu (74-72), SSP Chawrasia (75-76) and Gaganjeet Bhullar (77-76) failed to make the cut.
After a week’s break which they will spend in UK, due to the US PGA Championship being played at Kiawah Island in America, the Indian boys will resume action in Denmark next week.
