Pro Golf – Across the Globe
The past week wasn’t the best for our golfers across the globe, as six of them missed the cut in their respective tournaments played out in the USA, Japan, Germany and the Czech Republic.
LPGA – Women’s PGA Championship
Aditi Ashok played her 17th major championship on the LPGA, the US$ 4.3mn Women’s PGA Championship, surpassing Anirban Lahiri’s 16 appearances as the most major appearances for any Indian in history.
Since her return to the USA last week after a nearly two month gap, Aditi missed cut again, shooting 73-77 (+6) to miss the cut set at 3-over par.
Starting in February 2021, Aditi had made six consecutive cuts, with her best of Tied-23rd coming at the US$ 1.5mn LPGA Drive on Championship in March. She has earnings of US$ 48,700 (₹36 lakhs) so far this season and will be looking for a quick return to form with a busy schedule ahead.
PGA Tour – Travelers Championship

Anirban Lahiri shot 70-75 (+5) at the US$ 7.4mn Travelers Championship to miss the cut. Earlier this month, Lahiri finished tied-25th at the US$ 7.3mn Palmetto Championship at Congaree Golf Club in South Carolina which had earned him those crucial ranking points to make the Olympics cut off mark.
In his 2021 season on the PGA Tour, Lahiri has played 16 events, made cuts at 8, with his best finish of solo-fifth coming at the US$ 7.7mn Valero Texas Open in April bringing his season earnings to US$ 668,300 (₹5 crores approx.) the season.
European Tour – BMW Championship

33-year-old Gaganjeet Bhullar shot 77-79 (+12) to miss the cut at the US$ 1.8mn BMW International Open in Germany after spending nearly a month in California working with his coach. He will be seen at the US$ 4.1mn Irish Open from July 1-4.
In 2021, Bhullar has played 9 events, made cuts in 4, with his best result of tied-2nd coming at the US$ 1.8mn Qatar Masters in March and season earnings of US$ 138,500 (₹1.02 crore) till date.
Japan Golf Tour – Fukushima Open
Rahil Gangjee
42-year-old former Japan Tour winner Rahil Gangjee shot 74-72 (+2) to narrowly miss the cut at the US$ 450,000 Fukushima Open after a three week break on the tour. A month ago Gangjee had recorded a solid tied-10th finish at the US$ 720,000 Mizuno Open in the last week of May, taking his earnings to US$ 44,200 (₹ 33lakh) with 7 cuts in 12 starts in Japan.
