Hero MotoCorp will once again sponsor the live broadcast on Eurosport of the 149th Open Championship scheduled for July 15-18, when the reigning champion Shane Lowry is looking to defend his 2019 title from Royal Portrush at home in Ireland.

The Royal St. George’s Golf Club in England has hosted 14 Open Championships since 1894, while marking its return after a decade. In 2011, Scottish player Darren Clarke won the championship there by three strokes over the American duo of Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson.
The prize fund for this edition is set at US$ 11.5mn and the winner’s share at US$ 2,070,000 up from US$ 10.75mn as the prize fund and US$ 1,935,000 to the winner in 2019, making it one of the richest events in golf.
Previous Open Champions in the field include – Rory McIlroy, John Daly, Ernie Els, Padraig Harrington, Shane Lowry, Francesco Molinari, Jordan Spieth and Henrik Stenson and Phil Mickelson.
