Pro Golf – Japan Golf Tour :-
Rahil Gangjee, the only Indian playing full time on the Japan Golf Tour, shot 68 & 70 in the opening two rounds to co-lead the tournament but failed to carry the momentum into the weekend as he slumped to rounds of 75 & 79 to end at tied 49th at the US$ 1mn Fujisankei Classic.
Gangjee playing in his third tournament since the tour’s return after a break of two months needed a good finish to remain inside the top-75 to keep his playing right for 2022 in Japan.
Gangjee added US$ 2800 (₹ 2lacs) to his season earnings and stands 72nd on the Money List with only two more events on the schedule.
In 2020-2021, Ganjgee has made 7 cuts in 15 events played, with his best finish of tied-9th coming at the Mizuno Open in May. His season earnings are close to ₹35 lacs and he now plays the US$ 910,000 ANA Open from Sep. 16-19.
