Shubhankar Sharma failed to build on his strong performance in Abu Dhabi, where he tied for second. Playing in his second event of the 2022 DP World Tour season, the 25-year-old shot 72-72-76-76 (8-over 296) to finish 75th at the US$ 8mn Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic at Emirates Golf Club in Dubai.
However, thanks to his high finish in the season-opening Rolex series event, Shubhankar has the luxury of setting his schedule for the rest of the year without worrying about earning enough money to keep his card for 2023. He is also likely to qualify for the season-ending DP World Championship, for which only the top 60 in the points rankings are eligible to play
Sharma will tee it up next in the US$ 5mn Saudi International this week.
