Pranavi Urs, the 18-year-old golfer from Mysore, made birdie on the first playoff hole to beat Gurgaon’s Gaurika Bishnoi and take the title at Hyderabad’s Boulder Hills Golf &CC.

Urs who consistently drives the ball an impressive 275 yards started the final round three shots behind Bishnoi but by the 9th hole had taken a one shot lead. Urs and Bishnoi finished with matching scores of 5-under 211 after Urs shot 71 to Bishnoi’s 74. Bishnoi and Urs recorded 66 and 65 in Rds 1 and 2 respectively, setting up a thrilling final round contest. 17 year old amateur Sneha Singh of Hyderabad finished 3rd.

Both Pranavi and Sneha have recently received financial support from AllCargo Global Logistics in recognition of their potential as future international stars.

The win was Urs’s fifth on the tour but her first in 18 months as she suffered an injury in 2021.

In December 2021, both players travelled to Spain to play in the Qualifying tournament for the Ladies European Tour. Bishnoi made it through to the final stage and will enjoy partial exemptions for the main Tour this season.

The second leg of the Hero WPG Tour will be played at the East Point Golf Club in Visakhapatnam from Feb 16 to 18.
