Tiger Woods, the 15-time major winner, and one of the greatest golfers ever, if not the greatest, was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame last week.

Woods’ daughter Sam gave a powerful and moving speech in which she detailed Tiger’s first Major triumph in 1997, when Tiger became the first black and Asian golfer to win a Major championship, as well as his 2019 Masters success following multiple back surgeries, his devastating car crash in February 2021 and “winning the greatest gift of all.”

Woods then talked about his path to becoming a professional golfer and the difficulties of being a young black golfer in a primarily white sport.

After the ceremony, a number of Woods’ fellow professional golfers and fans took to social media with messages of support and thanks being shared via Twitter.
