IGU announces Amateur tournament schedule
In a welcome development for the many young players chasing national golf honours, the Indian Golf Union, the apex body for amateur golf in the country, has begun conducting its amateur qualifiers to earn a spot on the national amateur tour. The first qualifier was held from March 7-11 at Panchkula Golf Club outside Chandigarh, while the second qualifier will be played March 14-18 at Boulder Hills Golf Club, Hyderabad.
The tour had received over 280 entries for the first qualifier, out of which only the top-30 remaining on the final day will get a chance to play the main IGU amateur tour.
The tour has announced three events following the second qualifier in Hyderabad.

The South Zone Amateur Feeder Tour too has also announced its schedule for next month. The Feeder Tour is the official qualifying tour for IGU’s Main Amateur Tour.

The North Zone Feeder Tour, recently concluded its first tournament of the season at Jaypee Greens Wishtown in Noida but is yet to announce its future events.
The schedule for Junior events has not been released either. India Golf Weekly remains committed to bringing you the best of the junior news and will update you as soon as the junior calendar for tournaments is announced.
