The inaugural Rs 30 lacs Ballantine’s Golf Championship – Mixed Pro Challenge was welcomed as a new and interesting format using the best two scores on each hole between the two male and one female pro on each team.

The Winners who shot -13 on day one and -6 on day two for a total of 19 under par was the team consisting of teenager Hitaashee Bakshi, a two-time winner on the Hero Women’s Tour and Aadil Bedi and Ankur Chadha from the PGTI. The winning cheque was worth Rs. 7 lakh and was split three ways among the three team members.

The event,  played over 36 holes at DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurgaon saw a total of 18 teams of two men and a lady pro each.

Bakshi, playing on her home course, was the best performer for her team on both days, as she followed up her 66 in round one with a 69 in round two.

The team consisting of Yuvraj Singh Sandhu of Chandigarh, Sunit Chowrasia of Kolkata and Gaurika Bishnoi of Gurgaon finished runners-up with rounds of 133 and 138 for a total of 17 under par.

We hope this becomes a regular feature on the tour and mirrors the mixed pro tournaments taking place currently on the Asian Tour as well as the Mixed event on the European Tour hosted by major champions Henrik Stenson and Annika Sorenstam.
