For the first time at the Asian Games, both pros and amateurs can be on the national golf teams. Hence a five day qualifying tournament featuring India’s top amateurs and pros will be in action at the qualifying tournament to be held at KGA from April 25 to 30th. Up for grabs will be the remaining two spots on the four members men’s team and the solitary spot on the three member women’s team.

The selection committee has given automatic selection to India’s leading players on international tours – Anirban Lahiri & Shubhankar Sharma for the men and Aditi Ashok and Tvesa Malik for the women.
The trials is slated to feature 19 men (9 pros and 10 amateurs) battling for two spots, while among women, 18 girls (8 pros and 10 amateurs) will vie for a lone spot at KGA. They will all play five rounds, with the best four scores counting for selection.
The trials will mark the first time amateurs and pros will compete against each other for a place on the team for the Asian Games scheduled from Sep. 15-18 at Hangzhou, China.
