LPGA: Aditi makes cut in Texas
Aditi Ashok made her 14th cut of the season in Texas last week
Aditi Ashok shot 74-71-74-70 (5-over 289) to finish tied for 65th at the US$ 1.7mn LPGA event in Texas.
Ashok has made 14 cuts from 24 events this year, but official earnings of US$ 174,987 (₹1.42 crores) leaves her 96th on the Money List, and looks unlikely to make it to the top 60 who get to the Tour finals.
The tournament was won by Charley Hull of England who shot 67-64-71-64 (18-under 266) to win her second LPGA title by a shot over Xiyu Lin of China 65-68-69-65 (17-under 267).

European Tour: Sharma’s struggles continue
Shubhankar Sharma’s season hasn’t turned out for him as it had started
Shubhankar Sharma shot 74-77-72 to miss the 54-hole cut set at 1-under 215 at the US$ 4.5mn Alfred Dunhills Links Championship, played at the “home of golf”, St. Andrews in Scotland.
The tournament was won by Ryan Fox of New Zealand who shot 66-74-65-68 (15-under 273) for a one-shot win over the duo of Swedish Alex Noren and Callum Shinkwin of England.
*In the Pro-Am division, Nikesh Arora of Palo Alto Networks, partnered with Ewen Ferguson to shoot 61-73-59-62 (33-under 255) to finish tied-3rd and claim US$ 17,500 team prize money.
The tournament is a pro-am, with the format based on the long-running United States PGA Tour’s AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am held annually since 1937where each team consists of one amateur and one professional. The three course rotation consists of The Old Course at St Andrews, Carnoustie Golf Links and Kingsbarns Golf Links. The 54-hole cut is made of the top 60 professionals and the leading 20 pro-am teams, regardless of the professional member of the team making the individual cut. These players and teams advance to the final round at St Andrews.
To increase interest in the sport, well known personalities from the worlds of sport and entertainment participate each year including race car driver Nigel Mansell, Ian Botham, Gary Lineker, Boris Becker, Michael Douglas, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Vaughan, Hugh Grant, Justin Timberlake, Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps and Shane Warne.
