17-year-old Vidhatri Urs, cousin of WGAI No. 1, Pranavi Urs, shot 71-69-72 (4-under 212) to win the IGU’s BioGen Rotary Southern India Amateur by three-strokes over Mannat Brar of Chandigarh at KGA on Sep. 30 while tournament favourite Avani Prashanth of Bangalore shot 75-72-70 (1-over 217) to finish third.
For the first time, Rotary Club of Bangalore offered ₹75,000 to the winners in various categories. This new development in amateur golf is as per the updated rules mandated by the USGA and the R&A which allow amateurs to accept cash prize of upto US$ 1000.
Kriti Chowhan of Jaipur shot 74-73-73 (4-over 220) to win the Ladies Category by six strokes over Smriti Bhargav 74-71-81 (10-over 226).
A total of 41 women golfers participated in four different categories – Category A, B, C and Ladies.
