From L-R – Mr. Kanwarvir Singh Sibia (Captain, Chandigarh Golf Club); Mr. Srinivasan H R (Director, Take Solutions Ltd. and Joint President, PGTI); Mr. Uttam Singh Mundy (CEO, PGTI); Ganganjeet Bhullar (Winner of the Jeev Milkha Singh Invitational 2022 presented by TAKE); Mr. Jeev Milkha Singh (Tournament Host and Indian Golf Legend) and Lt. Col. H S Chahal (President, Chandigarh Golf Club). .

Gaganjeet Bhullar, who has won a record 10 times on the Asian Tour, holed a dramatic 13 foot putt on the 72nd green, shooting 69-65-68-71 (15-under 273) to win the Jeev Milkha Singh Invitational 2022 presented by TAKE in Chandigarh by a single stroke against youngster Karandeep Kochhar.

The win also marked Bhullar’s 11th win on the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) and his 2nd triumph in just 5 starts including his last win in Jamshedpur in December 2020 since he plays mainly on the European and Asian Tours and in August scored victory in the Indonesian Open.

“I played my back nine like a champion today,” an elated Bhullar said after his round. “I did have a shaky start, but my past experience as a golfer and my knowledge of this course together came in handy today. I kept telling myself to not go for the result but play one shot at a time and I think that worked things my way. The birdie on 11th, my first today, was probably the turning point in my round. My second birdie on the 16th got me motivated for the final two holes. My experience of the course helped me visualise my shots on the final hole in advance and that’s why sinking in the 12-footer in the final shot was not difficult.”

The runner up, Karandeep Kochhar again showed his propensity for shooting low scores as he finished 13 under par just a week after shooting 21 under for four days at the National Games in Ahmedabad where he won by 10 strokes !

The cut for the top 50 and ties fell at 143, 1 under par which underlined the depth of skill on the tour as 55 players finished under par for the first two rounds.

Among the other prominent names, Olympian Udayan Mane finished T13 at 9-under 279, veteran golfer Jyoti Randhawa finished T20 at 6-under 282 and former winner Ajeetesh Sandhu of Chandigarh finished T28 at 4-under 284. Sandhu continues to lead the TATA Steel PGTI Order of Merit.
