Crowd Favourite Rory McIlroy ascended to the top of the world rankings for the 9th time in his career as he successfully defended his US$ 10.5mn CJ Cup title – this time played in South Carolina instead of South Korea, last week.
This was the 33 year-old’s 23rd PGA Tour title and he replaced 2022 Masters champion Scottie Scheffler of USA at the top of the World Rankings.
