17-year-old Shat Mishra from New Delhi, the current No.1 ranked junior in the Indian Golf Union’s (IGU) Order of Merit, cemented his position with a spectacular last round 67 where he came from 10 shots back to win the IGU Junior Amateur event in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Shat started the final round a whopping 10 shots behind leader Vishesh Sharma but shot a final-round 5-under 67 catch Sharma, who struggled to a 77, his worst score of the week.
Over four rounds Shat shot 75-81-75-67 while Sharma shot 72-75-74-77. They both finished at 10-over 298.
Shat then went on to win the title on the third extra hole at Kalhaar Blues & Greens in Ahmedabad.
Haryana’s Arjun Singh Bhatia finished third and missed out on the playoff by a shot after shooting 73-76-75-75 (11-over 299). Manjot Singh (71-74-81-74) and Jujhar Singh (77-73-75-75) from Punjab finished tied fourth at 12-over 300.
