Aarav Shah from Noida shot 70-70-73-74 (1-under 287) to win the All India Junior Championship for Boys under age 18 in a very close contest while 16 year old Avani Prashanth of Bangalore shot 70-67-66 (a remarkable 13-under 203) to retain her Girls title by a margin of 8 strokes at the top class 18 hole championship course at KGA, Bangalore.
Shah won the title in dramatic fashion as IGU Junior Order of Merit leader Arjun Bhatia of Haryana had a one-shot lead playing the final hole but needing two putts to win, ended up tragically taking four putts for a double bogey six and handing the title to Shah.
Prashanth on the other hand led by six strokes starting the final round and added a splendid 66 for a comprehensive 8-shot win over Anvitha Narender, also from Bangalore, who herself produced three solid rounds of 72-71-68 for a 5-under 211 total.
In Category B Boys, Anshul Mishra of Kolkota totalled 1-over 289 for an eight shot win over Manoj S of Bangalore who shot 71-79-76-72 (9-over 298).
