Pranavi wins her 10th career title in Mumbai

19-year-old Pranavi Urs of Mysore, last years’ Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour ( HWPGT) #1,  shot 69-71-70 (even-par 210) to win the Tour’s 2nd leg of the season by five shots at Bombay Presidency Golf Club (BPGC) in Mumbai on Jan. 20. Urs, was returning to tournament play after a 7 week break following her playing the LPGA Qualifying tournament in Florida, where she secured playing rights on the LPGA’s Epson Tour in America for 2023. 

Vani Kapoor of Delhi, who has a record 29 career victories on the HWPGT shot 73-73-69 (5-over 215), to  finish second. 

Last season, Pranavi won five times and finished second three times in just 12 starts. This was Urs’ 10th career title on the Hero WPGT. She won her first title in 2018 at Eagleton as a 15-year-old amateur, signalling her talent and promise. 

Sneha Singh, a multiple winner on tour as an amateur, recorded yet another top 5 finish at  3rd alongside promising Mumbai based amateur Nishna Patel.  Amandeep Drall of Chandigarh 69-74-75 and Afshan Fatima 73-69-76 tied for fifth at 8-over 218. 

Patel recently returned from Australia after playing in the Australian Masters of the Amateurs Championship at Southern Golf Club in Melbourne, Australia.

Seher Atwal, who had won the first leg of the season in Pune, finished eighth. 

The next two legs of the Hero WPG Tour will be held in Kolkata next month.
