Anirban Lahiri and Shubhankar Sharma shot matching scores of 9-under 271 to finish tied for 12th at the US$ 5mn PIF Saudi International, the Asian Tour’s 2023 season opener at Royal Greens & CC in King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia.
The tournament used to be part of the DP World Tour (formerly the European Tour) but has moved to the Asian Tour because of the dispute between the Saudi-backed LIV Golf Tour and the DP World Tour.
Lahiri, who now plays on the LIV Golf Tour, shot 71-69-65-66, while Sharma shot 67-69-69-66.
The Indian duo made US$ 70,500 (₹ 58 lakhs) each for their performance in Saudi Arabia. A number of LIV golfers, including a bevy of major winners such as Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau, Henrik Stenson, Charl Schwartzel, Graeme McDowell, Louis Oosthuizen, Patrick Reed, Bubbat Watson, Cameron Smith & Sergio Garcia, took part.
Two other Indian pros made the cut as well. Shiv Kapur shot 67-71-72-69 (1-under 279) to finish T56th and Rashid Khan shot 70-70-76-71 (7-over 287) to finish 71st at the event.

Gaganjeet Bhullar – 73-73 (+6)
Veer Ahlawat – 76-72 (+8)
Abraham Ancer of Mexico shot 63-66-64-68 (19-under 261) and went wire-to-wire in winning the title by two-strokes over American Cameron Young 65-65-65-68 (17-under 263).
