Karandeep Kochhar leads all Indians in Korea

Karandeep Kochhar is focusing on International tournaments in 2023

23 year old Karandeep Kochhar of Chandigarh who has enjoyed considerable success on the PGTI with 4 wins so far,  continues to gain confidence overseas as he finished leading Indian in Korea  at the  US$980,000 GS Caltex Maekyung Open Golf Championship at Namseoul Country Club in South Korea which is co-sanctioned by the Korean PGA and the Asian Tour.

Kochhar shot 69-69-72  to finish 26th at 3-under 210 as the tournament was reduced to 54-holes due to heavy rain on the third day.

 


Veteran golfer Jeev Milkha Singh, who will head to the USA to play the Seniors PGA Championship in two weeks, finished a creditable 35th after shooting 71-70-71 (1-under 212). Honey Baisoya shot 69-72-73 (1-over 214) to finish T51st, and Gaganjeet Bhullar shot 72-70-76 (5-over 218) to finish T68th.

Indians who failed to make the cut at even-par 142 included –

Shiv Kapur – 73-71 (+2)
Ajeetesh Sandhu – 72-72 (+2)
Veer Ahlawat – RTD

The Asian Tour takes a long summer break and will return next month with the Korea Open from June 22-25.
