Pranavi Urs & Sneha Singh finished tied-36th at the Qualifier in California

For the first time in Indian golf history, three Indian girls have gone through from Stage 1 to Stage 2 at the tough LPGA Qualifying series in USA. Mysore’s Pranavi Urs, Hyderabad’s Sneha Singh and Orlando based Sharmila Nicollet will all chase LPGA Tour playing rights at the next stage, Oct. 17-20 in Florida.

Sneha and Pranavi both ended with 4-under 284 totals to tie for 36th position among the 304 players vying for 95 spots in Stage 2. Meanwhile Nicollet ended at 1-over 289 to finish tied 89th.

Former Bangalorean Nikita Arjun missed the 54-hole cut tragically by a single stroke.

The top 30 and ties from the Stage-II in Florida get into the final stage of Qualifying which  is scheduled in Alabama, from Nov. 30-Dec. 5, 2023 to be played over six rounds (108 holes).

In the Final qualifier, players will compete for a $150,000 purse to be paid to the top 45 and ties. The field will include players who finish 101-150 (and ties) on the current-year LPGA Points List and players 11-35 and ties from the Epson Tour. Spots will be allocated for players in the top 75 of the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings as well as the top 10 and ties on the Ladies European Tour. Going by the current standings, Diksha Dagar would gain automatic entry into the final qualifier as she is currently in third place in the Race to Costa del Sol.

Aditi Ashok, on the other hand, has had a stellar season on the LPGA tour and has already secured her playing rights in America for 2024.

From the final Qualifier, the top 20 and ties will earn full 2024 LPGA Tour playing rights, while players finishing in positions 21-45 and ties will earn conditional 2024 LPGA Tour status but full 2024 Epson Tour playing rights.  Players outside the top 45 will earn partial Epson Tour playing rights.

We at IGW will be watching the progress of these three Indian girls closely in the weeks to come.
