Kartik Singh – Winner Category B
Winning scores of 17 under par and 10 under par by the boys in the top two age groups underlined the high quality of golf seen in the IGU All India Juniors in Pune where over 85 junior boys and girls contested the national titles in overall, A, B & C age group categories.
In Boys Category A, Veer Ganapathy from Karnataka, son of golf pro Rahul Ganapathy, carded rounds of 68-67-64-72 for a remarkable total score of 17-under 271 to win the category and the overall titles by two-strokes over Ram Singh Mann of Chandigarh who shot rounds of 70-69-68-66 to finish as the runners-up at 15-under 273.
In Boys Category B, Kartik Singh of Gurgaon, who has been dominating his age group, emerged winner by a margin of six-strokes following his rounds of 71-69-66-72 for a total score of 10-under 278. Arjun Dahiya, another Gurgaon player carded rounds of 73-71-72-68 to finish runners-up at 4-under 284.
In Boys Category C, Aditya Tewari of Maharashtra shot rounds of 71-71-72 to win the category with his total score of 2-under 214. Danish Verma of Punjab shot 77-73-69 to finish runner-up at 3-over 219.
In the Girls section, Mannat Brar of Chandigarh emerged victorious after carding rounds of 69-66-72 for a total score of 9-under 207. Keerthana Rajeev of Bangalore shot 69-69-72 to finish as the runners-up at 6-under 210. They both were also declared winners in the overall categories A&B Combined.
