The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) Q-School is underway this week at Golmuri Golf Course in Jamshedpur. The qualifier is as always divided in two stages –  Stage-I has three different groups of around 120 players playing 36 holes between Jan. 24 to Feb.3, followed by the Final Stage from Feb. 6-9 all in Jamshedpur.

Stage-I, also known as Pre-Qualifying, will see 366 players try to grab the 66 spots available to qualify and join the 53 pros exempted in the Final Stage scheduled for next month.

Pre-Q I – Jan. 25-26 – 123 players

Pre-Q-II – Jan. 30-31 – 107 players

Pre-Q-III – Feb. 2-3 – 136 players

The final, as always a 72-hole event will see top-80 make the halfway cut and 36 players earn Category A, or full playing status for the 2024 season on PGTI.

Category A – Full Playing rights

Category B – Players who played all four rounds of the Final but do not finish in the top 36.

Category C – Players who played in the final but missed the cut.

Category D – Players who missed the cut in Pre Qualifying and did not make it to the final event.

Earning full playing rights on the PGTI has become more attractive in the last two seasons with the prize money and earnings having gone up by leaps and bounds thanks to strong corporate sponsorship support particularly from Tata Steel, Take Solutions and others, as well as thanks to the substantial infusion of funds from the European & PGA Tours in a bid to boost ties with the PGTI.
