Avani will be making her second appearance in the competition
17-year-old Avani Prashanth, currently ranked 42nd on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) and a champion on the LETAS (Ladies European Tour Access Series), the second rung women’s professional tour in Europe, as well as the defending champion at the upcoming Asia Pacific Amateur Team event – Queen Sirikit Cup, has received a prestigious invitation for the Augusta National Women’s Amateur scheduled for April 3-6.
This marks her second appearance in the tournament, which is considered the pinnacle of women’s amateur golf. She finished 21st finish at the 2022 edition.
The winner of the tournament receives invitations to the next five Augusta National Women’s Amateurs, the U.S. Women’s Open and Women’s British Open for that year, and any USGA, R&A, and PGA of America amateur events.
