The US$2 million International Series Oman featured 13 Indian golfers competing alongside some of the best LIV TOUR golfers in the field. For the Indians, the US$2 million purse and valuable earnings for both the Asian Tour and International Series rankings besides World Ranking Points all present an invaluable opportunity.
However, the best finish from an Indian came from Karandeep Kochhar, who tied for 31st place with a total score of 2-under par. Following him was Gaganjeet Bhullar, an 11-time winner on the Asian Tour, who shot rounds of 73-71-70-74 for a tied-43rd finish at even-par.
In contrast, the previous week saw Veer Ahlawat secure a tied-13th finish at the Asian Tour’s US$1 million season opener in Malaysia. The difference in results between Oman and Malaysia prompts us to investigate whether it is due to the high-quality field in Oman or errors by our own players. We will closely monitor these statistics to provide a detailed review later in the season.
The only notable achievement for the Indians this week was that six Indians made the cut in Oman while only 5 did so in Malaysia.
