Gangjee now ranks 2nd on the Asian Development Tour rankings

Rahil Gangjee, a former winner on the Asian and Japan Golf Tours, shot 66-66-67-73 (8-under 272) to claim a start-to-finish victory at the US$ 175,000 PKNS Selangor Masters in Malaysia.

This is the first win by an Indian man on the international pro tours this season, which had till now seen little success for the Indian men.

Gangjee entered the final round with a five-shot lead and hung on to win by one stroke despite bogeying his last two holes.

Talking about the week on the phone, Gangjee summarised his week by adding, “There are many ways to win a golf tournament! I experienced one of the tougher ones, in Selangor last week.”

Gangjee earned US$ 30,625, moving to 2nd on the Asian Development Tour rankings with the top-10 players at the end of the season set to earn full Asian Tour playing rights in 2025.

In 2023, Chandigarh’s Yuvraj Singh Sandhu secured his 2024 Asian Tour playing rights after finishing 8th on the ADT rankings after winning once.

The Asian Development Tour will now take a two-month break before returning with the US$ 125,000 Indonesia Pro-Am from Sep. 11-13.
