28-year-old Tvesa Malik, from Gurgaon, made 3 birdies and an eagle in her final 4 holes to end the US$320,000 Swiss Ladies Open on the Ladies European Tour (LET) tied at the top but then lost to a birdie in the first extra hole to finish 2nd.
Tvesa’s game has been trending upwards over the past few weeks and this stunning performance in Switzerland with rounds of 68-68-66 underlines her welcome return to top form.

Tvesa earned her biggest career cheque of US$27,000 which moved her to 31st on the LET rankings. Tvesa’s best year on the LET was in 2021 when she finished 19th in the final rankings. She also secured a valuable spot in the US$1 million Aramco Team Series London, scheduled for July 3-5, where she will join Indians Diksha Dagar and Pranavi Urs who are ranked 14th and 16th on the LET in 2024.

Vani Kapoor, also from Gurgaon, who shared the opening round lead in Switzerland with a career-best score of 66, added rounds of 70-74 to finish tied for 34th at 3-under 210. Ridhima Dilawari, the only other Indian to make the cut finished 62nd at 6-over 219. Amandeep Drall (+3) and Seher Atwal (+8) missed the cut.
