Aman Raj is aiming to secure his Asian Tour card for the 2025 season

Patna’s 29-year-old Aman Raj, the No 2 in the 2023 Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) rankings, finished 3rd at the inaugural US$100,000 Asian Development Tour Championship in Cambodia shooting 70-67-68-65.

This was Aman’s second top-5 result in his last three outings on the Asian Development Tour (ADT), which propelled him to No. 12 in the ADT rankings, behind veteran Rahil Gangjee, who currently holds the No.1 spot.

The ADT typically features 12 events with an average prize pool of US$120,000, and the top 10 players secure Asian Tour playing rights for the following season which looks certain for Rahil while Aman needs another top 3 to lock that in, since only three events remain this season.

The Asian Tour has become much more attractive for Indians in the last few years since the Saudi Public Investment Fund pumped in US$ 30 million a year to stage 10 events of US$2 million prize money each called The International Series.

The Indians will have to wait a month before pursuing their Asian Tour playing rights as the AD Tour next resumes in Taiwan from November 6-9.
