Indian golfer Shubhankar Sharma had a tough outing at the Open de France, held at the iconic Le Golf National course in Paris, where he competed earlier this year at the Olympic Games. He struggled to find his rhythm, leading to a missed cut after rounds of 72 and 75. Despite showing glimpses of form with four birdies in his opening round, five bogeys proved costly for Sharma. In the second round, he was unable to recover after a triple bogey on the 10th hole, adding to his struggles as the cut line fell at 1-under par.
Meanwhile, it was Dan Bradbury who emerged as the star of the tournament, clinching a dramatic victory by just one stroke. Bradbury’s win brought him a £420,000 prize and propelled him to 25th in the Race to Dubai rankings.
Sharma’s missed cut, however, reflects the unpredictable course conditions and high competition on the European Tour. With just a handful of events left for the season, Sharma will look to regroup and bounce back on the DP World Tour as he aims to improve his ranking and end the season on a high note.
