21-year-old rookie from Delhi, Shaurya Bhattacharya, showed nerves of steel to win his first professional title in a thrilling final round at the Rs. 50,00,000 J&K Open 2024, held at the Jammu Tawi Golf Course (JTGC) in Jammu. He carded 3-under-par on a challenging final day, pushing him to a total of 10-under-par, making him the first rookie in five years to win on the PGTI tour after Kshitij Naveed Kaul in 2019.
Shaurya started his day behind overnight leader Kartik Sharma, who was 3 shots ahead of the pack, but unraveled in the finishing holes to finish in second place at 8-under-par, while Kolkata’s Mohammad Sanju finished third at 5-under-par.
