Team captain Gangesh Khaitan took individual honors in his age category while the four-member Team India achieved a reasonable tied-fifth finish at the 2024 Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) Senior Amateur Championships held at Vinpearl Golf, outside Hanoi, in Vietnam.
For India, Sandeep Singh Sandhu of Chandigarh, the reigning All India Senior Champion was India’s best performer with a T16 finish individually, with RCGC’s Jaideep Singh only a shot behind at T18. Sandhu was in contention, sitting just two strokes off the leader after the second round at 2-under-par.
Delhi’s Gangesh Khaitan, who has won the All India Seniors several times, dominated the 70+ age group, winning by an impressive 15 strokes with the best score each day.
