European (DP World) Tour and LPGA Tour seasoned regulars, Shubhankar and Aditi, secure playing rights on their respective tours and extend full status to the next year

The youngest Indian to win on the European (DP World) Tour, Shubhankar Sharma ended his 2024 campaign ranked 66th on the Race to Dubai standings, narrowly missing out on the Tour Championship. However, his strong T32 finish in the Abu Dhabi Championship, a week prior to the Tour Championship, helped him secure full playing rights for 2025, marking his 11th consecutive year on the European (DP World) Tour.

Shubhankar’s breakout year came in 2018, when he finished 28th in the Race to Dubai rankings. After a dip in 2020, when he fell to 139th, he has consistently hovered around the top tier, finishing in the top 70 three times since. His highest ranking remains 28th in 2018, with 2022 marking another strong year at 29th.

The lone Indian on the LPGA, Aditi Ashok, secured her LPGA Tour card for 2025 by finishing 87th in the Race to CME Globe rankings, ensuring her ninth consecutive LPGA season.

In her eight seasons on the LPGA Tour so far, Aditi has fallen out of the top 100 in the rankings only once, in 2020, when she finished the season ranked 159th, necessitating a return to the qualifying tournament to regain her playing rights for the following year. Her best season to date came in 2023, when she achieved a career-high ranking of 37th, reflecting her steady rise and consistent performance on the global stage.

Sharma and Ashok lead the charge for Indian golf on the world stage, setting benchmarks for aspiring golfers at home. With both securing their spots for another season, India Golf Weekly wishes them the very best and looks forward to seeing them compete in key tournaments and represent Indian golf at the highest levels.
