2024 Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour (HWPGT) No. 1 Hitaashee Bakshi of Delhi had a satisfactory outing in the inaugural KLPGA 2025 Indonesia Women’s Open, finishing tied-eighth at the $300,000 event, held from January 24-26 in Jakarta. As the top-ranked Indian player last year, Hitaashee was the only Indian in the field, earning her spot based on her domestic ranking.
The inaugural tournament marked a historic expansion for the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Tour (KLPGT), which, in collaboration with the Asia Golf Leaders Forum (AGLF), introduced the Dream Tour to international venues for the first time. The Indonesia Women’s Open was the first of two overseas events in the newly established Asia-Pacific Circuit Series Tour (APAC Circuit), with the Philippine Ladies Masters set to follow from February 12-14 in Manila.
KLPGT, in partnership with the Indonesian Golf Association (IGA), hosted 120 players, including 50 players from the Dream Tour and top-ranked golfers from across Asia. The Philippine Ladies Masters, co-organised with the Ladies Philippines Golf Tour (LPGT), will feature an expanded field of 132 players with the same $300,000 prize purse.
The Indonesia Women’s Open featured a strong lineup of emerging and established players, including players like Patcharajutar Kongkraphan from Thailand (World No. 146 and a 30-time winner) and Dottie Ardina from The Philippines (An Olympian and LPGA member).
The APAC Circuit, initiated by AGLF in partnership with regional golf associations, aims to create more competitive opportunities for emerging women golfers across Asia. The long-term vision includes expanding to Thailand and Vietnam, with a goal of hosting up to eight tournaments by 2028. The circuit also provides a pathway for international players to transition to the KLPGA.
