The PGTI 2025 season kicked off last week at Tollygunge Club, in what promises to be a record-breaking year of prize money and tournaments. Former Asian Development Tour (ADT) winner Yuvraj Singh Sandhu clinched a commanding victory at the TATA Steel PGTI Players Championship 2025, hosted at The Tollygunge Club. The 27-year-old claimed his seventh PGTI title and second at the Tollygunge Club, winning by two strokes with a total of 20-under 260.

Sandhu (63-61-68-68) maintained his lead across all four rounds, delivering a wire-to-wire triumph at the INR 1 crore season-opening event. He entered the final round with a slender one-shot lead but delivered a steady two-under 68 to hold off Bangladesh’s Jamal Hossain—also a former champion at the venue—who finished 2nd at 18-under 262.

Reflecting on his victory, Sandhu credited his composure and mental training under coach Rabia Gill. “It was another up-and-down day, but I stayed in control. The atmosphere and hospitality here always bring out my best. Last time I won here, my career took off, and I hope this win gives me another boost as I prepare for the Asian Tour.”

Bengaluru-based Rahil Gangjee (originally from Kolkata), who enjoys full playing rights on the Asian Tour this year, secured third place with a total of 14-under 266.

Gurugram’s Dhruv Sheoran fired the best round of the final day, a seven-under 63, to climb 26 spots and finish tied fifth at 12-under 268.

Local legend and 2-time Indian Open winner SSP Chawrasia ended tied eighth at 11-under 269. Sixteen-year-old amateur Anshul Mishra, the only non-professional to make the cut, won the best amateur trophy, concluding the week tied-24th at five-under 275.

The tour continues in Ahmedabad this week with the Gujarat Open Golf Championship at the Glade One Golf Resort & Club from February 18-21.
