David D’ Souza and Digboloi Halder from Bengaluru today walked away with the winner’s trophy and one in a kind opportunity to represent India at The Duke of Edinburgh Cup – World Finals scoring 36 points each at the Prestige Golfshire Club, Bengaluru. The Bengaluru duo with a score of 72 points edged past Hyderabad’s Shashidhar Reddy (38) and former India cricketer Venkatapathy Raju’s (32) team score of 70 to emerge victorious amongst a total of 100 golfers representing Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mysore & Pune. David & Digboloi who braved tough conditions at the picturesque Prestige Golfshire Club today to walk away with a glittering trophy and the right to represent India at the World Finals, which would be hosted at the private golf course of the Royal Family at Windsor Castle, London from September 29 – October 3, 2019.
The duo will be joined by the team of Pranay Puri and Chirag Paul who also won the opportunity to represent India at the World Finals winning the Delhi leg of the India edition. The India edition of the prestigious tournament is presented by Apollo Tyres in association with Bio Gen Extracts. The final leg of the India edition was played today at the picturesque Prestige Golfshire Course, Bengaluru.
“It will indeed be an honour to represent India at the World Finals and all we hope is that we continue our winning run and make India proud. I cannot express how proud both Halder & I feel to represent our country at a global event with the honour to play at such a private and exotic course,” said a visibly ecstatic David post his win today.
Both David & Digboloi will now face participants from over 12 countries, including South Africa, UK, France, Ireland and many more at the World Finals of the Duke of Edinburg Cup. Arjun Malik with a score of 75 won the honours for the best Individual Gross Score.
