The participants and organisers of the Inter-Club Caddies Tournament 2025

The Western India Golf Association (WIGA) successfully hosted the annual Inter-Club Caddies Tournament 2025 on February 10th at the Willingdon Sports Club in Mumbai. The tournament, a key initiative aligned with WIGA’s objectives, saw increased participation this year, with nine teams competing, compared to five to six teams in previous editions.

The event was partially supported by the Anil Manohar Rajwade Memorial Trust, which played a crucial role in its execution. A total of 54 caddies participated in the competition, each receiving a participation incentive of Rs 2,000 along with T-shirts and caps provided by the organisers.

The Willingdon Sports Club won the Team Championship

Winners and Prizes

Team Championship:

  • Willingdon Sports Club emerged victorious, with each team member awarded Rs 8,000.
  • Bombay Presidency Golf Club secured the runner-up position, with each player receiving Rs 4,000.
  • The Rolling Trophy was presented to the winning Willingdon team by WIGA President Commodore Mike Bhada.

Individual Winners:

  • Mohammad Hanif Shaikh (Willingdon Sports Club) claimed the Overall Individual Winner title, receiving Rs 8,000 in prize money.
  • Ram Kamalakar Katkari (Kharghar Golf Club) was the Overall Individual Runner-up, earning Rs 4,000.
Prize Distribution and Celebrations

The prize distribution ceremony took place at The Cabbage Patch, Willingdon Club, followed by a sumptuous lunch for all participants and organisers. The tournament concluded on a celebratory note, with smiling caddies expressing their joy at the opportunity to compete in such an event. The WIGA Council members were equally pleased with the tournament’s successful execution and the positive impact on the caddy community.

This annual tournament continues to provide a platform for caddies to showcase their talent, reinforcing WIGA’s commitment to supporting the golfing community.
