The latest announcement of some pride to Indian business leaders is the announcement that Sameer Aggarwal, a 16-handicap golfer  from DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurugram has been elevated to the post of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Walmart’s E commerce vertical Sam’s Club which is around a US$70 Billion business land will soon be moving to Arkansas.

Aggarwal had joined Walmart India as its chief strategy and Administrative officer in April 2018. Within eight months, he was elevated to the role of Chief Business officer in 2019 and was made deputy CEO a year after that. In April 2020, Sameer was named the new CEO of Walmart India, replacing Krish Iyer, who retired.

Sameer joins a growing group of Indians who head some of the world’s top  corporations across the globe. Fortunately many of them are avid golfers as well.
