Diksha is the first Indian to enter the ‘1000 Birdies’ club on the LET
24-year-old Diksha Dagar of Delhi made history at the Joburg Ladies Open by becoming the first Indian golfer to record 1,000 birdies on the Ladies European Tour (LET). This milestone came during her 121st career LET appearance at the Modderfontein Golf Club in Johannesburg, South Africa, from April 3-6.
A 2-time winner on tour, Diksha is also the first Indian to cross the 100-event mark on the LET. Her achievements were exemplified with a tied-8th finish at the Joburg Ladies Open with final scores of 71-73-68 for the week, for a total score of 7-under 212 on the par 73 course. This was her third top-12 result of the season, following a runner-up finish in Morocco and a T-11 at the Women’s NSW Open in Australia.
Due to heavy rainfall and flooding at the venue, the Joburg Ladies Open was shortened to 54 holes. Dagar’s final round surge helped her break into the top-10 on a weather-affected leaderboard.
Among the four Indians in the field, Mysuru’s Pranavi Urs was the only other player to make the cut. She finished tied-39th at even par, with rounds of 70-77-72.
Rookie Avani Prashanth of Bengaluru and experienced pro Tvesa Malik, a former winner on the Sunshine Ladies Tour, failed to make the cut.
Diksha Dagar joins the playing field this week at the South African Ladies Open in Cape Town as a former champion of the event, having won the title in 2019—her first LET victory. She will be joined in the field by Pranavi Urs, Avani Prashanth, and Tvesa Malik. Rhea Saravanan, the 2025 Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour (HWPGT) season-opener winner, also joins the Indian contingent this week. The event presents an opportunity for Dagar to build on her recent form and potentially add a second title at a familiar venue.
