Pro Golf – Ladies European Tour
20-year-old Haryana golfer Diksha Dagar, a former winner on the Ladies European Tour (LET) achieved her season’s best , finishing tied-4th with scores of 70-68-66 (12-under 204) at the US$ 240,000 Czech Ladies Open in Prague.
Diksha’s prize money of US$ 9,600 (₹7.1 lakhs) and valuable ranking points will certainly help her confidence for the rest of a busy season ahead. Diksha, who has been recuperating from back problems, has played in four events in Europe so far and has made cuts in 3, missing out only in Sweden.
Talking about her week, Diksha said, “I have been struggling with my fitness and inconsistency in performance for almost a year. Have worked towards addressing the issues. I am happy that things are coming back for me, thanks to people who have believed in me and supported and helped me. It is still a test for me as to how well I can play, but I am feeling better and better.”
The other Indians in the field, Tvesa Malik 71-74 (+1) missed the cut by just one shot while Astha Madan shot 83-81 (+20).
All three will again compete in this week’s US$ 240,000 event in the Netherlands.
