The 11th edition of the Golf & Turf Summit, hosted by the Golf Industry Association (GIA), concluded last week at the Oxford Golf Resort, bringing together more than 200 delegates and 40 esteemed speakers from around the globe.
The summit’s theme, “2024: Is the Golf & Turf Industry Prepared for New Challenges and Innovations?” set the tone for insightful discussions. Suman Billa, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, inaugurated the event, delivering a keynote on driving sustainable tourism growth through golf. He emphasized the potential of tourism to double its contribution to India’s GDP.
The opening address was delivered by GIA president Anirudha Seolekar, with a warm welcome by vice president Anit Mehrotra. Various experts, including golf course owners, architects, and industry leaders, participated in panel discussions and workshops on topics such as strategic management, sustainability, and enhancing member experiences at golf clubs.
An exclusive Q&A session featured prominent figures like Devang Shah, MD of Kalhaar Blues & Greens, and Ashwani Khurana, CEO of Karma Lakelands. A fireside chat on real estate and golf was also held, emphasising the strong link between the two sectors.
The summit hosted an 18-hole golf tournament for real estate developers, invited VIP’s and government officials, rounding off a successful gathering of industry experts.
