17-year-old Vidhatri Urs, cousin of the 2022 WGAI No. 1 Pranavi Urs, lapped the field in the Hero WGAI event held at Prestige Golfshire in Bangalore. Vidhatri, who is still an amateur, shot rounds of 65, 67, and 68 to finish a remarkable 16-under par and win by a massive 13 strokes.
Pro Jasmine Shekar and young amateur Saanvi Somu of Bangalore finished in a distant tie for second place at 3-under par.
Her 16-under total is the lowest total on the tour since 2015 shared with Vani Kapoor at Eagleton in 2016 and Neha Tripathi at ITC Classic in 2018. The lowest total score ever posted on the Hero WPGT is 17-under by Britain based Kiran Matharu, also at ITC Classic in 2015.
Vidhatri’s 13-stroke victory margin matched Avani Prashanth’s record at Chandigarh Golf Club in November 2022.
