The 4th edition of the Delhi Golf Club League was launched with the announcement that two new teams have been added to the league, taking the number of teams up to 24 this year. The league kicks off on October 3 and culminates with a grand finale on October 26, 2024.

Each 20 player league team plays round robin matches in four groups, with the top two teams advancing to the quarter-final knockout stage.

The Delhi Golf Club League is part of an ever growing number of club golf leagues in India, which has brought a new competitive element into club golf during the past five years.

The ITC Classic Golf League in Gurgaon is currently underway, having kicked off on August 16, featuring 12 teams with 10 players each. This includes five qualifying rounds held on Fridays and Sundays, leading into the knockout stages. The finalists will enjoy a stay at ITC Grand Bharat, with a special dinner arranged before the final match on September 29. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.

Similarly, in other major Indian golf clubs, leagues are getting ready to kick off. The DLF GC League is set to commence in November, while the Bombay Presidency Golf Club League (BPGC) will take place during the first two weeks of December. The Bangalore GC Golf League typically runs from January to February and the one that started the trend – the Royal Premier Golf League runs from January to March.

As these leagues grow in stature, they continue to provide a platform for amateur golfers to compete in a team format, fostering camaraderie while elevating the level of competitive golf across the country.
