The Asian Tour is gearing up for an exhilarating comeback as it prepares to host the highly anticipated US$1 million 65th Kolon Korea Open, after a six-week hiatus since the Caltex Maekyung Open, also in Korea.
Seven Indians led by Asian Tour winners Rahil Gangjee, Ajeetesh Sandhu, S.S.P. Chawrasia, and Viraj Madappa will be joined by Karandeep Kochhar, Chikkarangappa S., and Honey Baisoya.
The event tees off at the immaculate Woo Jeong Hills Country Club, in the picturesque city of Cheonan, South Korea.
After the Korean Open, the players will again have a 6 week break till the Asian Tour resumes in the United Kingdom with two International Series events in England and Scotland during August with purses of US$2 million and US$ 1.5 million respectively.
With the PGTI having last played an event in late April and expected to restart in September, this is a challenging 4 month break for the Indian players who lose out on chances for valuable world ranking points while players in the rest of the world are busy playing tournaments all summer.
