Aaron Rai is giving his best effort to qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs

29-year-old Aaron Rai, an Englishman of Indian descent, recorded another impressive performance on the  PGA TOUR shooting 65-63-66-69 (21-under 263) to finish tied-7th at the US$8 mn John Deere Classic.

Rai was tied-2nd at 19-under par after 54 holes, just two strokes behind eventual winner Davis Thompson but slowed down to a final round of 69, thereby dropping to 7th place. This was Rai’s fourth top-10 finish of the season and puts him at 57th on the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup rankings. It is certain that Rai will retain full playing rights in America for 2025 but he needs to keep playing well in order to remain in the top 60 and get into the PGA Tour’s season ending lucrative playoff events.

Last week, Rai finished tied-2nd at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Michigan alongside the other in-form Indian-American Akshay Bhatia.

While Bhatia rested this week, Sahith Theegala flew to Scotland to prepare for this week’s Scottish Open, a warm-up for The Open Championship.
