Aditi wins in Spain – Diksha shines

Aditi Ashok ends her 2023 campaign on a high note

25-year-old Aditi Ashok, who last week closed out her best ever year on the LPGA Tour in USA , and emphatically marked her class with a win at the Ladies European Tour’s ( LET) season ending finale giving India 3rd and 4th place on the LET’s 2023 final rankings along with Diksha Dagar who finished 7th in Spain. 

Aditi, who had scored a victory on the LET in Kenya in early 2023, carded rounds of 69-68-68-66 which was made sweeter with birdies at 15, 16 & 17 in the final round at the US$ 650,000 Andalucia Spanish Open in Malaga, Spain.

The win was her fifth career title on the LET, the most by an Indian lady. 

 

Aditi made US$ 97,500 (₹81.2 lacs) for her efforts, which took her total season earnings to US$ 672,337 (₹ 5.6 crores), helping her finish third on the LET’s Money List. Aditi also earned 1809.19 points in total for the season to finish fourth, just 16 points behind Diksha Dagar on the LET Race to Costa del Sol Rankings.

In 2023, Aditi played in 8 events, made all cuts, registered two wins and two other top-5 finishes to her name for an extraordinary season of golf on the LET.

 

Meanwhile Diksha Dagar, also a winner this season on the tour, carded rounds of 72-71-68-67 to finish tied-7th with a total score of 10-under 278. Dagar made US$ 16,250(₹ 13.5 lacs) for her efforts, and finished a fabulous 3rd in the 2023 final rankings. Overall in 2023, Diksha registered one win – at the Czech Ladies Open,  and recorded seven top-10 finishes in the season.
