27-year-old Veer Ahlawat from Gurgaon, who has shown tremendous form the past two seasons on the Asian Tour, again showed his potential as he carded rounds of 62-71-70-66, to register a tied-13th finish at a total score of 15-under 269 at the US$ 1mn IRS Prima Malaysia Open, the Asian Tour’s season opening tournament for 2024 at The Mines Resort & Golf Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Ahlawat’s opening round 62 helped him take a share of the lead, but his further rounds of 71-70-66 only helped him to finish inside the top-20 at the tournament.
Last year, Ahlawat stood 52nd on the Asian Tour’s rankings to retain his card for the 2024 season.

Yuvraj Singh Sandhu, another youngster showing tremendous promise, who recently earned his Asian Tour card after winning an Asian Development Tour (ADT) event last year shot 70-64-67-69 to register a tied-22nd finish at 14-under 270 at the same event.
