All three Indians make the cut in Northern Ireland

It was a good week on the European Tour as all three Indian boys in the field made the halfway cut at the US$ 1.5mn World Invitational at Galgorm Castle in Northern Ireland. Shubhankar Sharma, led the way with a 4-under total of 276 to finish tied-30th . Gaganjeet Bhullar finished 38th with  a total of 2-under 278. The 3rd Indian Ajeetesh Sandhu, made the two-day cut with 68-70, but his third day 72, dropped him to 58th. 

Sharma earned US$ 12,900 (9.6 lakhs) for his efforts, taking his season earnings to US$ 123,000 (91.5 lakhs) in 18 events this season. Bhullar added US$ 10,000 (₹7.2 lakhs) while Ajeetesh picked up US$ 5,000 (₹3.6 lakhs) to his season earnings. 

This new and unique event on the LPGA tour consisted of two simultaneous tournaments for 144 men and 144 women with two separate cuts – on Day 2 and Day 3.

In the women’s LET event at Galgorm Castle and Massereene – Tvesa Malik shot 71-75 (1-over 146) to miss the cut by just a stroke and Diksha shot 77-76 (8-over 153).

Ajeetesh Sandhu, Gaganjeet Bhullar and Shubhankar Sharma and Shiv Kapur will now head out to Scotland to play the US$ 1.5mn Hero Open from Aug. 5-8.

Diksha Dagar and Aditi Ashok will be representing India at the Tokyo Olympics from Aug. 4-7.

Tvesa Malik and Astha Madan will head to Spain to play the US$ 1mn Aramco Team Series event in Spain from Aug. 5-7.
