Champion Aman Raj receives the trophy from Mr. Jayant Tagore, President, HGA (5th from right) & Mr. Srikrishna Vardhan Vankayalapati, Director, Krishnaiah Projects Pvt Ltd (4th from right)
28-year-old Aman Raj of Patna shot 66-65-63-68 (18-under 262) to win the ₹1 crore Telangana Golconda Masters by a stroke at the par 70 Hyderabad Golf Association and move to 2nd place in the 2023 Rankings with two wins to his name. Its a welcome return of form as Raj has not been able to crack the top 10 since March.
He trails Om Prakash Chouhan of Madhya Pradesh, who shot to No 1 in the Rankings, after he won the US$300,000 Bangalore co-sanctioned event with the European Challenge Tour back in March and recorded 3 consecutive top 5 finishes in the last 3 weeks.
A lucrative stretch of the season now awaits the Indian players on the domestic tour after the J&K Open 2023 this week as they will play for Rs 10.25 crore in prize money in the next 7 events including the season ending Rs 3 crore Tata Steel Tour Championship.
